The report outlines several key issues with the homeowner’s 98-gallon natural gas water heater, including: 1. Leakage: The heater is leaking from the relief valve, which is a critical safety component. 2. Age: The heater, manufactured in 2014, is nearing the end of its recommended lifespan (12 years). 3. Component Issues: Problems with the gas control assembly and the relief line suggest that repair might be costly and potentially ineffective in the long run. 4. Cost Effectiveness: Replacing the heater now is more economical than repairing it, as it would need to be replaced within a year anyway. The company recommends replacing the heater with a new 100-gallon natural gas heater and will provide the homeowner with a quote and an estimated delivery time for the new unit. This proactive approach aims to avoid further issues and ensure a more reliable system moving forward.
